In the January edition of Plastic&Reconstructive Surgery (PRS) of the United States, the authors Shilu Yin et al. have give scientific evidence that water-jet assisted liposuction is superior as compared to conventional fat extraction technique.
In their investigation they used a nude mice model, fat survival rates were compared when using conventional tumescent liposuction versus water jetstream harvested fat grafts.

From the clinical perspective of a surgeon, the advantages in large volume fat transfer are very obvious, so we knew for sure it was the superior technology. But in spite of all this, I was still surprised to see how big the difference really is in an a scientific study.
The authors mainly investigated
– Adipocyte viability by histological analysis and glucose transport tests in fresh lipoaspirates.
– Multidirectional differentiation ability of stromal vascular fraction/adipose stem cells.
– Fat survival in a nude mice mode.,
– Fat graft vascularization.
– Apoptosis in grafted adipose tissues.
Findings were that those fat grafts harvested with Water Jetstream did significantly better than conventional fat grafts.
